Blues music is almost always associated with sad music. This book aims to challenge that preconceived notion, by revealing how Blues music is also about humanness, celebration and triumph. The Blues did not invent the sad song but it did invent Saturday night. The content covers the many influences that contributed to the special sound such as juke joints, spirituals, ingenuity and style. The graphic language has a serious yet playful expression in this revival of the forgotten but never gone music of the Blues.
